Hello everyone... I joined this forum in hopes to find other people I can share my success and failures with. Not many people on board yet... hopefully we can get the word out and have many more join! I had my lap-band surgery on Oct. 20, 2009 & I am down 59 lbs. so far...I just started exercising more regularly and feel great. I still have issues with making good food choices though. But none the less, I am still not eating near as much as before my surgery! The weight is coming off slow, but I am "ok" with that. I think I might be ready for another fill as I have noticed I am able to get more food in sometimes but not always. Does anyone know if that means I need a one or not? I had a friend get a fill and then had to get some of it removed because her band was to tight..I certainly don't want to go through that. Especially because I have to travel so far to see Dr. Singh. I hope to see more people join in the future...wonder what can be done to promote this forum?? Maybe Dr. Singh can link it to facebook or something like that??? (hint, hint). Would also be nice to have a thread to share some recipes. ~Sheelah

Hi Sheelah,
I had my sugery in Dec 2007 and it is coming off slowly but from what I am to understand that is the best way. I too am happy with my weight loss. I feel great and am amazed at all I can do now. When people come up to me and tell me how good I look (far from being done losing weight) it gives me drive to keep on keeping on. I am looking soooo forward to my plastic surgery (39 more lbs to lose). Carrying this excess is a drag. I have not been able to exercise as much as most because I suffer from fibermyalgia and it is sooo painful at times. So with the slow loss and not exercising i am very happy with myself. As for the fills I too travel far and I havent gotten the hang of when to and when not to get one - I just make my regular appts and go from there. i have had it added, and taken out too. I just learn to go with the flow. I too go through binges not bad ones but I sometimes crave sweets...which have always been my weakness...but the band surely keeps me in check. Good luck to you.
Lil
